monster's bride

The Queen of Trash channelled Elsa Lanchester's original Bride of Frankenstein to be our debut Bride centerfold in Issue 3
Katrina Henry and friend will be our Bride in Issue 4
Chrystyne, in her zombie-mermaid make-up (!), will be our Bride in Issue 5

We are interested in adding one model per issue to our magazine. Here's what we are looking for: Models (18 and over please) in monster make-up and costumes such as zombie girl, bride of Frankenstein, werewolf-woman, devil girl, she-creature from the Black Lagoon (notice I did not say "vampire"...lady vampires are hot, but it's really been done to...uhhh...death). They can be sexy in a cheesecake style but must be non-nude. Elements of retro 50s style would be a plus. Humor and a sense of fun are an even bigger plus. But we don't want these choices to be limits. We are really interested in the creativity that models and photographers can bring to us.

Here's what we're NOT looking for in the photos: fetish, goth, full nudity, brooding, humorlessness. Models of all types are welcome, but in the pictures you send us, we would like to see equal measures of humor and horror.

Currently, as with all submissions, we cannot pay for photos. It's fun, it's exposure of your talent, it's something to put on the resume, but it cannot be a paying gig. Publishing this magazine sure isn't.

We welcome all ages, sizes, shapes. Professional modeling experience is definitely not required. And while the model each month will be called the Monster's Bride, the nature of your gender beneath an effective costume is...flexible. Coop and Les Toil style models are very welcome. That means we like big girls.

Photos must be digital (.JPG, .TIF, or .GIF but watch the quality) or scan-able. We can use from 3 to 7 photos (although we'd like more to select from), and at least one must be large enough to fill an 8" x 10.75" page. Both photographer's and model's names will be credited in the magazine, and we will be glad to include a bio with your website, the name of your band, the club you work at, basically anything we can help you promote.

You will have to file a model release with us which will include our statement that we will not use your photos for any other purpose than one-time publication in our magazine. If you are open to having a photo on our website, that can be arranged, but never without your written permission.

Sound fun? Sound scary? We're all about both. So send photos or questions to monsterzine@aol.com and please include the following information with your submission:
name
age (no models under 18 please)
phone number
City and State you live in
email address
